UAE traffic alert: Police urge caution after accident on Dubai road

India fights Covid: Madrasa opens doors for coronavirus patients

The madrasa, which was a residential school for 400 students, is now a private Covid-19 care centre, treating nearby villagers.
Irfan Pathan, 26, a nurse, was looking after Covid-19 patients in Jaipur in Rajasthan last year, but recently decided to return to his village, Kheerwa when the madrasa sought trained volunteers to look after local people being treated there.
He quickly chucked his Jaipur job and returned to his home in Sikar district and is busy treating patients. The Jamia Arabia Barkatul Islam Madrasa in Kheerwa, which was a residential school for 400 students, is now a private Covid-19 care centre, treating nearby villagers.

In a shocking video, a man can be seen charging towards the imam’s pulpit at the Grand Mosque in the holy city of Makkah.
According to Arab News, the incident happened while the imam was delivering the sermon before the obligatory Friday prayers at the holy site.
The man can be seen in the video rushing the pulpit brandishing a stick while wearing ihram, the traditional two sheets of cloth worn by pilgrims on Haj or Umrah. Security personnel, as well as bystanders, proceed to stop the man before he can reach the imam’s chamber.
India: Universities in Delhi lose leading teachers to Covid-19

Covid-19 has struck the world of academia in Delhi, resulting in the death of several leading personalities in Delhi University, Jawaharlal Nehru University and Jamia Millia Islamia in recent days.
They include about 35 teachers in DU, five in Jamia Millia Islamia and two in JNU. Besides these, many other teachers from DU’s constituent colleges have also succumbed to Covid.
Vinay Gupta, the former dean of examinations at DU lost the battle against Covid-19, even as his father succumbed to it, according to a news report. Veena Kukreja, 65, head of the political science department, also passed away, though she was discharged from an ICU after her health improved.
